Nagoya-shi - description of the city:

Nagoya, known also as Nagoya-shi, is a city on Japan. It is located in the Chubu district, and it is the biggest city in that district. It is a major port, as it is on the coast of Japan meeting the Pacific Ocean.

The climate in Nagoya is a humid subtropical climate, with the regular characteristics of heat in the summer, with the winter being pretty cool. Additionally, in the summer time, the city experiences the most rain, although there is precipitation year-round in Nagoya.

The city is situated on a series of plateaus and this plain is one of the country’s most fertile areas. The city is crossed throughout with rivers which were used for trade years ago. These river meet and flow out into the bay.

Nagoya is a bustling hub of activity, with many things to see and do; it would take a very long time to see all of it. To start off, there are museums that range from traditional art displays to scientific and natural museums. There are also historic sites that can be visited, providing a look into Japan’s famous historic feudal period. The sites include castles and palaces.

In the aspect of performance and theatre, Nagoya has a impressive selection of theatres and cultural performances. There are also rich and exotic celebrations, some of them unique to the city alone.

Nagoya also is known worldwide for its selection of traditional cuisine. There are foods that are specific to this city called Nagoya Meshi. Meals include soups, noodles, rice dishes, dumplings, and more.
